Crew Member - Base Camp & Logistics Support Operations All Clean Emergency Services - 1.0 Santa Maria, CA Job Details Temporary | Full-time $20 - $22 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Teamwork Outdoor work Attention to detail Full Job Description Job Summary We are looking for hardworking individuals to join our team as a Seasonal Base Camp Crew Member . In this role, you will assist in setting up, maintaining, and taking down base camp equipment for emergency response operations. This is a seasonal position with the possibility of extended work based on performance and operational needs. Typical Work Schedule - When you ARE Deployed ("In the Field"): Initial 24-36 hours are usually longest and most physically demanding (up to 16-20+ hours) to set up equipment as soon as possible. Once equipment is operational, you transition to shifts varying between 10-16+ hours with no days off for the duration of a base camp operation. Breakdown at the end of a base camp operation can also be long (up to 16-20+ hours) to facilitate returning home promptly. Typically, after each base camp operation, employees are given 1-3 days off to rest and reset for the next deployment. Typical Work Schedule - When you are NOT Deployed Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm 30-minute lunch break Two 10-minute breaks Key Responsibilities Ensure the cleanliness and organization of all equipment. Perform general maintenance and repairs as needed. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Provide support to other team members and management as needed. Assist in setting up, operating, and tearing down heavy equipment, such as Mobile Shower Trailers, Mobile Laundry Trailers, Mobile Office Trailers, Mobile Generators, Large-scale Shelter Tents, Grey and Potable Water Trucks, and other support equipment. Assist in cleaning, repairing, servicing, and replenishing equipment after each operation. Be willing and readily able to deploy on sometimes very short notice (wildfires and natural disasters don't have a schedule). When deployed, you may often work 12-16+ hour days in adverse conditions, such as extreme heat or cold weather. Be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and be on your feet for several hours a day. When deployed, you may be on your feet for 12-16+ hours a day. Exhibit grit, mental toughness, and endurance during sometimes extremely long days and short nights. Requirements Must be available and able to report to our headquarters (Santa Maria, CA) within short-notice to depart for a base camp operation. Must be willing and able to be away from home for extended periods of time (range from 1-3 weeks at a time, depending on operational requirements). Must be able to work extended hours when deployed on a Base Camp operation (sometimes 12-16+ hour shifts) Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy objects. Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
