Job Summary The Senior Visitor Services Associate is responsible for supporting the daily operations of admissions while ensuring a high level of customer service and a welcoming visitor experience. This position assists with front-of-house operations, greeting and orienting visitors, answering phone calls and emails, supporting special projects, and helping maintain an orderly, safe, and professional environment in public-facing areas of the museum. The Senior Visitor Services Associate also helps monitor visitor flow, communicates operational concerns to appropriate staff, and supports the smooth coordination of daily museum activities and special events. Supports daily public-facing museum operations with a focus on professionalism, organization, and efficiency. Welcomes, orients, and assists guests, patrons, and members of the public in a timely and courteous manner. Maintains awareness of activity in public areas, supports orderly guest movement, identifies operational concerns, and communicates issues to appropriate museum staff as needed. Facilitates sales transactions using Point of Sale (POS) systems, including cash handling and credit card processing on a daily basis. Maintains accuracy, accountability, and professionalism in all payment-related activities while supporting smooth and secure front-facing operations. Assists with the set-up and facilitation of special museum events, evening programs, festivals, lectures, receptions, and other public programs. Supports guest check-in, wayfinding, program flow, public area readiness, and general front-facing coordination to help ensure events run smoothly and professionally. Assists guests, patrons, and members of the public with Museum Shop and Café purchases, including merchandise selection and food and beverage orders. Processes sales transactions and helps maintain displays, organization, cleanliness, and readiness of public-facing retail and café areas. Maintains a well-informed, working knowledge of exhibitions, programs, public amenities, museum guidelines, and services available at The Wolfsonian-FIU. Provides accurate information to guests, patrons, staff, and members of the public, and supports the ongoing training of front-facing staff to ensure consistent communication and smooth daily operations. Supports a positive public experience while promoting the welfare and daily operations of the Museum. Communicates with guests, patrons, program attendees, and members of the public with varying interests, needs, and abilities. Assists with questions and concerns in real time, helps resolve issues professionally, and escalates operational matters to appropriate staff when necessary. Performs other related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position. Handles sensitive cardholder information and/or processes credit cards transactions for the department/unit. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of customer service or related experience. Departmental Requirements Complete and maintain training and certification for food safety and responsible alcohol sales and service to food safety and responsible vendor regulations and standards. Must complete and maintain ServeSafe training for food and beverage services within one month of employment. Desired Qualifications Comfortable working with the general public, trustees, members, and donors on the phone and/ or in person.
