POSITION SUMMARY
: Monitor the farms to verify that all of the required systems are running correctly and notify the appropriate people when there is an issue. Maintain the security of the farms by ensuring only MFI employees or MFI approved contractors are on the farms. Drive from farm to farm well following bio-security procedures and always preforming your work safely.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Check all monitors and notifies on the Layer farms and Pullet Farms Observe temperatures and fans on the computer visually. Walk through all chicken houses checking condition. (Water leaks, temperatures, fans, lights, baffles, feed chains, etc…) Report issues on shift report. Close gates and check on all 5 farm locations several times nightly. In case of power failure, see that generator start up and contact farm supervisor for support. Notify NE Power in case of power failure. Check irrigation when in use. Follow all Bio-Security procedures. Carry weather alert radio and alert Sanitation Crew when there is a severe weather condition. Carry farm radio for communication when questions arise. Take proper care of company pickup. (Fuel, oil change, washing, etc…) Responsible to report any damage or problems with pick up truck. Responsible to report records of documentation nightly. Carry company cell phone for communication. Follow all UPE (United Egg Producer)/Animal Welfare Program Guidelines. Prepare and turn in nightly shift report. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Travel to and work at multiple locations. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.

Driver's license
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Must be safety minded and have a thorough knowledge of all safety procedures. Must have good communication skills. Self-motivated and willingness to learn. Able to work independently. Able to analyze situations and establish priorities. Possess an informative mechanical ability. Good organizational skills and punctual. Ability to safely lift 50 to 100 lbs. occasionally. Must meet company driving requirements. Travel to work at multiple locations. Abel to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. Ability to work in different weather environments
