OUTDOOR CLEANING AMBASSADOR JOB SUMMARY
Pay:
$19.00/hour
Employment :
Full-Time; 40hrs/wk
Location:
Outdoors, on-foot patrol —
Downtown Manchester Shift:
M-F, 2 Saturdays a month
Start Date:

Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, referral bonus You'll patrol an assigned zone in Manchester in uniform (employer provided), keeping the area clean and inviting while serving as a welcoming presence for pedestrians and visitors. Most of your day is litter collection and graffiti removal — physical, active work where you can see the difference you're making in your community.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Cleaning & Maintenance Patrol your zone with a rolling supply cart collecting litter, debris, and other waste from sidewalks, curb lines, and alleys Clean and sanitize odorous areas — including those affected by public urination, defecation, or vomit — using a power washer or other equipment Remove graffiti, stickers, posters, handbills, and other defacement from public infrastructure using scraping, chemicals, or paint Remove weeds and unsightly vegetation from sidewalks, tree grates, and surrounding areas by hand or using eco-friendly chemicals Assist with minor landscaping tasks such as mulching, flower planting, watering, and maintaining plants throughout the district Complete special assignments including pressure washing, painting, scrubbing, and other tasks that improve the appearance of the district Community & Reporting Greet pedestrians, offer directions, and assist downtown residents, workers, and visitors Interact respectfully with unhoused individuals and connect them with available local resources when appropriate Observe and report suspicious activity, quality-of-life infractions, and criminal behavior to law enforcement and your supervisor Report infrastructure damage, graffiti on private property, and conditions adversely affecting the district via smartphone and two-way radio Log daily tasks and completed work using a smartphone and electronic work order platform

Requirements High school diploma or GED Physical ability to walk continuously throughout an 8-hour shift with breaks in accordance with local laws Ability to lift up to 25 lbs Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold Ability to exercise self-control in interactions with distraught, disturbed, or intoxicated individuals Basic smartphone proficiency Ability to commute to Georgetown, Washington, DC (required) Candidates must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment Preferred (not required) Minimum 2 years of experience in janitorial, landscaping, or a related field Experience operating mechanical or outdoor maintenance equipment
