Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Outside Plant Inspector to oversee the construction and installation of telecommunications infrastructure in outdoor environments. This role needs to know underground conduit, aerial installation, cable placement and maintenance. Needs understanding of local, OSHA and municipal codes that pertain to this type of work. This position is more of a construction Coordinator/Inspector. They may be called upon to inspect projects in a working environment and be responsible for identifying the material and proper protocol for handling. Experience in utility construction is required. Must possess organizational and strong communication skills. The ability to work with contractors firmly and fairly. Strong experience in working with underground and pole mounted utility installations to include fiber optic, copper cable, and electrical. Monitor and ensure schedule performance and quality workmanship of contractors. Responsibilities Overseeing OSP Construction activities performed by contractors Responsible to ensure contractor compliance with State, local, and utility requirements while working within the public ROW or utility easement Project Inspections- pre and post Ensuring accurate records- as-builts Attend any required meetings Plant Damage investigations and reporting Requirements Minimum five years of Outside Plant construction Understand Engineered prints/drawings Strong knowledge of OSP Unit Descriptions Strong knowledge of State, Local, and OSHA standards for safety Familiarity with permitting requirements, Work Zone Protection and Traffic Control plans Physical requirements working outdoors in inclement weather, extended driving and standing, and lifting and carrying of moderately heavy objects Willing to work overtime and possible night and weekends when needed Valid driver's license

Pay:

$28.00 - $32.00 per hour
