Driver's License Data collection Full Job Description Job Brief We are looking for qualified Outside Plant (OSP) telecom Inspectors to work in the Vancouver, WA areas. We are looking for Outside Plant (OSP) Inspectors (telecom) to work in the Vancouver, WA area. The incumbent monitors and performs quality inspections of work completed by OSP Construction placing crews and splicers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews contractor invoices for appropriate construction unit reporting, including appropriate units, footages, proper account codes and required documentation of work completed Supports placing and splicing crews in meeting schedule milestones and budget/contract requirements of projects. Provide timely documentation and communication with Engineering and Construction Management Teams on project status and recommendations for cost saving design and methods Makes recommendations for changes in running line or construction methodologies due to knowledge of or experience in environmental conditions, construction access by crews, or congestion of utilities Understands and actively participates in the best method of design, permitting, traffic control, safety setup and construction practices and procedures to support the requirements of the project's contract scope of work Ensures all work performed follows standard company procedures/practices and local, state, and national electrical, safety and occupational codes, policies, and practices. Determines and executes correct procedures for both OSP fiber optic and copper cable splicing, termination, testing, and documentation Monitors that accurate and readable construction as-built information is recorded daily. Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) required OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the essential duties of the position Required to have an OSHA 10 Certification of Completion Experience in OSP construction lead responsibility/project in-charge is desired Experience in aerial, buried and underground construction methods and fiber and copper splicing is desired Supervisory and construction project management experience a plus Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or construction work print/diagram form and manage abstract and concrete variables Must be able to pass a Background Check and Drug Screen, post offer. Must possess a valid driver's license and safe driving record. Requires use of personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement (IRS standard mileage rate).
Physical Requirements:
Requires walking 2-4 miles per day. Works outside extensively and may be exposed to all types of weather, such as heat, cold, sun, rain, and other weather conditions May carry equipment such as GPS unit, measuring stick, measuring wheel, and other handheld devices weighing 5-20 pounds. May be required to read engineering designs which use color coding to denote telecom routes.
