Job Description

The Forestry Technician (FT) is a full-time seasonal position. The FT is a member of the Fuels Crew and will be responsible for operating power and hand tools to limb up trees; remove small trees, bushes and other vegetation; move cut vegetation to a chipper and feed vegetation into the chipper. The work schedule is 10-hour days, 4 days per week. Each day starts and ends at the Alexander Valley Fire Station with transportation provided to the work site.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old at the time of employment, valid driver's license, and high school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires frequent lifting and/or moving of heavy objects. Strength, stamina, and agility are necessary to hike steep, uneven terrain while carrying equipment. Work is performed primarily in wildland settings in all weather conditions.

The selection process will include one or more of the following components: application review, oral interview, background check, physical fitness test.
