Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Forestry Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to landscape maintenance, ecological restoration, and tree care. This role requires a strong understanding of horticulture and the ability to operate hand and power tools effectively. The Forestry Worker will also be involved in supervising activities, data collection, and utilizing GIS and GPS technologies to ensure efficient project execution. Responsibilities Perform landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, and caring for trees and shrubs. Supervise team members during restoration projects to ensure adherence to safety protocols and project specifications. Utilize GIS and GPS technology for mapping and data collection related to forestry projects. Conduct ecological restoration efforts by implementing best practices in land management. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for various landscaping and construction tasks. Assist with heavy lifting of materials as needed during project execution. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including data collection on plant health and project progress. Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals while ensuring high-quality standards are met. Skills Proficient in landscape maintenance and landscaping techniques. Experience in supervising teams effectively in outdoor settings. Knowledge of GIS and GPS systems for mapping and data analysis. Familiarity with ecological restoration practices and principles. Strong skills in construction methods relevant to forestry work. Ability to perform tree care tasks including trimming, pruning, and health assessments. Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely. Capable of performing heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
