Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:
A silviculture technician provides support and assistance to the silviculture forester. GIS collection, reporting and maintenance of land ownership data Logging supervision, timber cruising and SFI/FSC compliance Supervising and auditing silviculture activities (planting, site prep, timber stand improvement, etc.) for contract compliance Attending police jury meetings and communicating outcomes
Job Experience:
Attention to detail, creative thinking, and communication skills are vital for success in this role.
Required:
High school diploma or equivalency Outstanding safety record in all aspects of previous employment Willingness to obtain drone certification
Preferred:
Forestry-focused background experience Forestry training through a vocational/technical program or equivalent experience Experience in GIS, contractor supervision, implementing silvicultural prescriptions, and using map and GPS for timber inventory Willingness to obtain a CDL to operate a lowboy truck and dozer
