About Mass Audubon Mass Audubon is the largest nature-based conservation organization in New England. Explore, find inspiration, and take action at massaudubon.org. About This PositionMass Audubon is looking for a dedicated Land Steward with a passion for the environment. The Land Steward works closely with the Property Manager and property staff to maintain a ninety-acre environmental education center and wildlife sanctuary including trails, meadows, pond areas, gardens, tools, and equipment. The Land Steward will learn ecological management techniques, wildlife monitoring skills, and horticultural best practices.

ResponsibilitiesPatrol trails and assist in property maintenanceParticipate in invasive plant control and meadow and pond restoration projectsParticipate in wildlife and vegetation inventory and monitoring projectsAssist in the care and moving of goats used for meadow managementAssist in the care of gardens including pruning, planting, watering, weeding, and lawn careAssist with logistical set up for education programs and eventsQualificationsAt Mass Audubon, our highest priority is finding the best candidate for the job. We are looking for applicants with the following qualifications:

At least 18 years of ageApplicants must be in good physical condition with the ability to move materials and equipment weighing up to 40 lbsAbility to walk long distances over wooded trailsCompensation, Benefits and PerksThis positions pay rate is $16.00 per hour. This position may be eligible for health insurance benefits.

Work ScheduleThis position begins in May 2026 and ends in October 2026. 25-40 hours per week, with one weekend day required.

Other RequirementsEmployees must successfully complete a CORI and SORI Background Check and a Motor Vehicle Record (if applicable) is required.
