Burn Boss

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Burn Boss to lead prescribed fire operations and ecological restoration projects. As a key team member, you will oversee controlled burns designed to improve land health, manage invasive species, and promote sustainable ecosystems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors and contribute to environmental stewardship through innovative land management practices. Participate in prescribed burns. Duties Plan, coordinate, and execute prescribed burns in accordance with safety protocols and environmental regulations Supervise crew members during fire operations, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and best practices. Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and GPS tools for mapping, data collection, and project planning Perform ecological restoration tasks such as invasive species removal, habitat enhancement, and soil stabilization Collect data related to land conditions, vegetation health, and fire behavior for reporting and analysis Qualifications Must be RX-300 Burn Boss Certified Knowledge of fire ecology principles and experience conducting prescribed burns. Familiarity with GIS technology, GPS devices, and data collection methods for environmental projects Valid driver's license Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in project planning. Physical fitness to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions including heavy lifting and long periods of standing or walking Join us in making a tangible impact on our environment!
