Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Wildlife Technician and play a vital role in conserving and managing local wildlife habitats. This energetic position involves hands-on fieldwork, habitat assessment, and implementing wildlife management strategies. You will work outdoors in diverse environments, utilizing a variety of tools and equipment to support ecological research, habitat restoration, and species monitoring efforts. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to environmental stewardship while gaining valuable experience in wildlife conservation, land management, and related fields. Duties Conduct field surveys to monitor wildlife populations and habitat conditions using hand tools and power tools. Assist with habitat restoration projects, including planting native species and removing invasive plants. Operate farm machinery, lawn care equipment, and land management tools safely and efficiently. Support pest control initiatives to protect native flora and fauna from invasive species. Maintain detailed records of field observations, habitat conditions, and project progress. Drive company vehicles to various project sites while adhering to safety protocols. Collaborate with team members on land management activities such as fencing, trail maintenance, and erosion control. Experience Prior experience in wildlife conservation, land management, or related outdoor work is preferred but not required. Familiarity with agricultural practices, farming techniques, or landscaping is a plus. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, farm machinery, or pest control equipment is highly desirable. Ability to operate vehicles safely and confidently on different terrains. Strong physical fitness with the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods. Excellent communication skills for documenting activities and working effectively within a team.
