8:00AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday/ On call required Valid NC driver's license required. Pay Range $41.10 - $61.65
Major Responsibilities:
Analyzes, troubleshoots and repairs highly complex diagnostic and therapeutic imaging equipment and systems utilizing established electronic test and measurement equipment and techniques. Installs, calibrates and tests highly complex new imaging equipment and/or systems. Responsibilities may include work on a mix of Biomedical and Diagnostic Imaging equipment, but majority of work will be related to Diagnostic Imaging equipment. Performs any required advanced service on imaging equipment and systems, in accordance with corporate and department procedures, manufacturers recommendations, physicists' specifications and/or other applicable codes, standards, accreditation requirements, and state and federal regulations as applicable regarding radiographic and diagnostic imaging equipment. Interacts with clinical staff at primary assigned site(s) on a regular basis to ensure needs are being met. Provides advanced technical support and assistance to imaging staff in their use of highly complex diagnostic and therapeutic Imaging devices. Acts as a technical resource for Biomedical Technicians and Imaging Technicians to help them grow in ability, responsibility, and experience. Assists in training Biomedical Equipment Tech's to provide first call on imaging equipment. Documents and maintains accurate records of all inspections, repairs, adjustments, etc. performed on all equipment performed by self or a vendor. Installs or assists in the installation of new imaging equipment, tubes, transformers, etc. Assists in the training of imaging staff on the safe and proper use of equipment. Interacts with manufacturer's representatives to obtain the necessary technical product information. As applicable, coordinates and communicates with a radiation physicist as part of equipment quality assurance testing, calibration, and disposal for site licensing needs with the State department of public health. May assist imaging staff in the selection process for new equipment purchases and installations, may assist with service contract negotiations. This may include site visits and/or meetings with equipment manufacturers. Makes recommendations for capital equipment replacements to Clinical Engineering Leadership. Requests/orders necessary repair and spare parts according to established procedures and contract relationships. Responds appropriately to urgent customer requests. Communicates the status of all maintenance activity, projects, and other necessary information to the clinical users in a timely and consistent manner. Escalates situations beyond capabilities to proper staff. Participates in new equipment evaluation and RFP/RFI development. Minimize contract dependency and the use of manufacturer and/or third-party labor for maintenance and repair of responsible systems. Licensure, Registration, and/or

High School Diploma or GED Experience Required:
Typically requires five or more years of experience performing imaging equipment service, supporting multiple classes of diagnostic imaging equipment, which includes digital imaging technology, and networking technology.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Knowledge of safety precautions when servicing high voltage and working with ionizing radiation. Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of networking technology. Demonstrated ability to multi-task several projects.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Potential exposure to blood and air borne pathogens, and bodily fluids. Ability to do very heavy lifting: up to 75 pounds occasionally and/or more than 50 pounds frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly.
