Position Description:
Paul Smith's College Institute of Forestry is seeking a Forest Research Technician to carry out inventory and data collection to support a scientific field study developed and sponsored by the Northern Timberland Research Cooperative (NTRC). The technician will work under the supervision of the PSC Assistant Forest Manager and will collaborate closely with research faculty and leadership of the PSC Institute of Forestry.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Locate and measure inventory plots on regenerated treatment areas on NTRC member lands throughout the Adirondack Park Data entry, cleaning and management Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Preferences:
Enrollment in good standing in an SAF accredited forestry program. Successful completion of coursework in Dendrology and Forest Mensuration, or equivalent. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record which will enable authorization to drive College-owned vehicles. Demonstrated success working with diverse teams. Ability to work with a broad range of diverse individuals and groups to form a safe and inclusive campus community. Paul Smith's College is an equal opportunity employer.
