Full-Time Position Summary:
The Production Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations on the production floor. This role is responsible for directing the Production Team, assigning equipment and material runs, and providing guidance on additional operational tasks. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Plant Manager and collaborate with various departments to maintain an efficient, safe, and organized production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:
Supervise daily operations on the JSS production floor. Coordinate material staging in collaboration with the Shipping/Receiving Team. Maintain and manage an up-to-date production schedule to optimize equipment usage and meet order deadlines. Accurately complete and manage all production paperwork.
Communication & Coordination:
Relay equipment concerns, issues, and suggestions to the Plant Manager and Maintenance Team. Use logging systems to track material throughput and equipment performance. Notify the Maintenance Team of any issues or upcoming downtime to prepare for necessary repairs or maintenance tasks.
Team Training & Development:
Train all new hires on equipment operation, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. Maintain detailed training records, documenting employee competencies and identifying areas for continued development.
Quality Control:
Conduct quality control checks on materials as needed. Examples include sieves on the mill line and regrind sample analysis to detect contamination or inconsistencies (e.g., presence of wood or mixed materials).
Safety & Compliance:
Participate in weekly plant and safety audits alongside the Plant Manager and Maintenance Team. Identify and help mitigate workplace hazards, equipment issues, and unsafe practices.
Housekeeping & Supplies:
Ensure the production area and equipment are kept clean and organized. Maintain adequate inventory of production and housekeeping supplies (e.g., brooms, tape, liners). Submit weekly supply requisitions to the office for timely ordering. Success in

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; technical training or associate degree preferred. 2+ years of supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in using basic computer systems and production tracking tools. Familiarity with safety standards, quality control procedures, and equipment maintenance processes.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment. Exposure to dust, machinery, and variable temperatures. Physical activity includes standing for long periods, lifting up to [50] lbs, and operating equipment.
Pay:
$23.00 - $26.00 per hour
