Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Cutter Operator to join our forestry operations team. The Cutter Operator is responsible for operating forestry cutting equipment to harvest timber efficiently while maintaining safety standards, environmental regulations, and production goals. This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain. Key Responsibilities Operate forestry cutting equipment and machinery to harvest timber safely and efficiently. Follow designated cutting plans, boundaries, and harvesting specifications. Inspect equipment daily and report maintenance or repair needs. Perform basic preventive maintenance and equipment cleaning. Identify and remove designated trees while protecting surrounding vegetation and property. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations. Maintain accurate production records and reports. Communicate effectively with supervisors, truck drivers, and other forestry personnel. Assist with site preparation, cleanup, and other forestry-related duties as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience operating forestry equipment, logging equipment, heavy machinery, or similar equipment preferred. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions. Strong commitment to workplace safety. Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus. Ability to perform physical labor, including walking on uneven ground and lifting up to 50 pounds. Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment maintenance skills preferred. Skills & Abilities Safe operation of forestry and logging equipment. Attention to detail and productivity. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
