Job Description
The City of Bremerton is seeking to fill the position of Forestry Service Specialist Supervisor in the City's Public Works & Utilities Department. Once established, this register is valid for one (1) year and future open positions will be filled using this register. GENERAL FUNCTION
Under supervision of the Forestry Manager, the Forestry Service Specialist Supervisor (FSSS) is responsible for managing approximately 8,000 acres of Bremerton's forested watershed and Utility lands. The FSSS ensures compliance with management objectives to maintain the Union River Reservoir's unfiltered water source status, protect surface and groundwater resources, and promote forest health and resiliency. Utility lands are actively and adaptively managed to achieve these goals while generating revenue to help offset utility costs for ratepayers. Responsibilities include supervising Forestry Division staff (two Forest Specialists and one seasonal intern), planning and coordinating daily operations, overseeing timber harvest operations, forest road maintenance, and Watershed security patrolling and monitoring for trespass in conjunction with the Bremerton Police Department (BPD). The hiring range for this position is: $47.49 - $58.24 per hour. This salary includes longevity (1% earned after five years and increases to a maximum of 4% after 20 years).Benefits and Additional Compensation:
