About the role: If you're passionate about quality, precision, and making a tangible difference, we want to hear from you! In this role, you'll be responsible for expertly preparing blood components from multiple blood collection bags, labeling, record reviewing, and while following our precise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)to ensure top-notch quality. Your attention to detail will help us maintain the highest standards of product integrity, all while adhering to NYBC's rigorous guidelines, regulatory standards, and current good manufacturing practices (cGMP). The component technician's role is vital in ensuring the highest quality of products are delivered to our patients in need.

Prepare and Process:
Work with multiple collection bags to produce high-quality blood components, following all SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
Document and Log:
Accurately prepare and maintain documents and l electronic information related to receiving, processing, and labeling blood products.
Maintain Equipment:
Ensure that all equipment is well-maintained and that your work environment is safe and organized.
Manage Storage:
Oversee the storage of various blood products, ensuring proper conditions, in a temperature-controlled environment. Label blood products acceptable for transfusion by following SOPs and using our Blood Establishment Computer System (BECS)
Package and Ship:
Handle the shipping and packaging of products for research and discard, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications:
What you'll need: High School Diploma/GED (some college science courses preferred). Attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Computer skills preferred.
