Full Job Description Description:
The Country Club of Mobile is a 27-hole Private Country Club sitting on 150 acres in the heart of Mobile, Alabama. The course was originally designed by Donald Ross, and most recently renovated in 2018 in keeping with the Donald Ross style. This is a 2nd Assistant Superintendent position. Hourly $22.00 - 26.00 ($46,000.00 - $54,000.00 annually with overtime)
Responsibilities:
Coordinating with the superintendent and assistant superintendents in the planning, scheduling and implementation of maintenance practices and projects. Training and supervision of employees. Taking responsibility for all maintenance duties when superintendent and first assistants are not on property. Communicating with golf shop staff about course conditions when necessary. Applying various types of pest control products as necessary. Applying fertility products as necessary. Monitoring irrigation needs and system operation. Will be required to work every other weekend. Full-time position. Insurance benefits offered-health, dental, vision, group-paid life, voluntary life, disability, critical illness and accident plans. Insurance benefits effective first of month following 60 days of full-time employment. PTO 401k-matching plan
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Must have a valid drivers license and dependable transportation. Must possess or be able to acquire a Pesticide Applicators Permit from the State of Alabama within 180 days of hire. Must have minimum of one year golf maintenance experience in performing common tasks such as changing pins, mowing greens, raking bunkers, as well as some experience spraying, fertilizing and supervising employees. AS degree in horticulture, agriculture or turfgrass maintenance preferred.
