Position Summary:
As a Field Operations Supervisor, you are the backbone of our daily field operations. This is a critical supervisory role responsible for managing three key areas: leading a team of employees, ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of our fleet and equipment, and guaranteeing high-quality results across all job sites. You are a natural leader who sets a positive tone, drives efficiency, and ensures every project meets our high standards. Your day starts early with strategic planning and ends with ensuring every crew is accounted for, safe, and ready for the next day.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
The functions listed below are representative of the scope of work but are not necessarily exhaustive. Management may assign other functions as needed.
Leadership & Team Management:
Set the
Tone:
Greet employees daily, provide positive leadership, and set the day's expectations. The first and last hours of the day are crucial for team morale and productivity.
Morning Huddle:
Ensure all staff are in proper uniform, prepared, and briefed on their daily schedules and work orders.
Foreman Oversight:
Manage, support, and mentor crew foremen, including leading weekly meetings and ensuring adherence to landscape plans and daily checklists.
HR Support:
Assist with new hire onboarding, performance reviews, and managing crew rosters.
Safety First:
Conduct weekly safety tailgate meetings and ensure all safety policies and procedures are rigorously followed on every job site.
Operations & Quality Control:
Strategic Planning:
Develop a clear "Game Plan" for crews before they leave the yard.
Site Inspections:
Conduct regular, documented site inspections (minimum 10 per week) to ensure quality control standards are consistently met.
Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive Daily Activity Logs and inspection forms.
Customer Satisfaction:
Ensure crews exceed customer expectations by delivering high-quality work efficiently and professionally.
Equipment & Fleet Management:
Daily Readiness:
Conduct daily inventory and inspections of all equipment and vehicles.
Maintenance Oversight:
Coordinate with the Mechanic Team, tagging equipment for repair as needed and communicating issues effectively.
Cleanliness & Order:
Ensure all vehicles, trailers, and equipment are kept clean and organized daily.
Compliance:
Verify drivers are completing their required daily inspection logs and checklists.
Yard Security:
Ensure the yard is secure at the end of the day after the last crew has returned, unloaded, and clocked out. Bilingual Spanish and English High School Diploma or GED Two (2) years of prior landscape industry experience Proven supervisory or leadership experience
Required Certifications & Skills:
Valid Driver's License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Landscape Technician (SLM), Arborist Certification) are highly preferred.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
Work is primarily performed outdoors, exposing the employee to varying temperatures, weather conditions, noise levels, and sometimes hazardous equipment. The role requires frequent standing, walking, crouching, stooping, kneeling, bending, and lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to walk long distances on sloped or uneven surfaces. Normal manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and corrected hearing/vision within normal range are required.
