PART-TIME LEVEE SUPERINTENDENT

Reclamation District - Oakley, California Area (Bradford Island) must take a ferry to get to the island. There is NO cost for this. The Reclamation District is seeking a dependable and self-motivated Part-Time Levee Superintendent to assist with the operation, maintenance, and inspection of district facilities, levees, roads, drainage systems, and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record. Must own and operate a reliable truck suitable for work-related duties. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in general maintenance, landscaping, construction, public works, or a related field. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment. Basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and uploading digital photographs and documents. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Primary Duties:

Conduct routine levee, road, drainage ditch, and facility inspections. Perform general maintenance, vegetation control, landscaping, and minor repairs. Document maintenance activities and inspection findings through photographs and written reports. Coordinate with contractors, engineers, utility companies, and district staff as needed. Respond to emergency situations, storm events, and flood-fighting activities when required. Maintain district equipment, tools, and supplies. Attend occasional board meetings and provide updates on district operations. Follow all safety procedures and applicable regulations.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to walk uneven terrain, climb embankments, and perform physical labor as needed.

Compensation:

Part-time position. Salary dependent upon qualifications and experience. The Reclamation District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
