Job description Lawn Maintenance Foreman Lawn Maintenance Foreman Job Summary The position of foreman is responsible for the direction of crew activities on job the site, according to pre-established schedules, standards, and procedures to provide a high quality of service as directed. You have a strong work ethic and are able to manage time to effectively meet deadlines. You preferably have experience in landscaping and previous supervisory experience, as well as proven communication skills with supervisors, employees, and customers. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Plan and manage the loading/unloading of trucks and trailers in the AM and PM including all daily labor, equipment and materials required to complete daily objectives Cut grass, trim edges, clean up refuse, blow trimmings, fertilize and water turf areas and perform other lawn care duties Spray and dust areas to control insects and or weeds Operate power equipment including, but not limited to, lawn tractors, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sod cutters, chain saws, and snow blowers Supervise the work of crew members to ensure proper safety, quality, and productivity Inspect all work for quality to eliminate the need for return visits and/or re-work due to quality or customer satisfaction issues Train crew members on proper and safe job methods Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipment Assist in other job-related duties including construction projects, shop and yard maintenance, vehicle and equipment maintenance Complete and submit all required paperwork on a daily basis, including: daily time and service record forms, equipment daily inspection forms, attendance tracking, requests for time off, etc. Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all crew members are in compliance with government and company PPE standards Comply with all company policies and regulations Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner Communicate when budgeted hours are not aligned with actual hours required to perform work Lawn Maintenance Foreman Requirements and Qualifications Ideal candidates must have at least one year of verifiable employment history as a maintenance foreman All applicants for this position must have a drivers license with a clean record (no points, no DUI) Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them under tight deadlines Ability to motivate and lead subordinates Ability to communicate effectively with crew members and Operations Manager Strong commitment to high quality of work and customer service Ability to read and understand maps for navigation and job planning Basic understanding of smartphone apps related to work requirements (e.g. work order entry, time entry, communication with Operations Manager) Ability to communicate in English Ability to communicate effectively with crew members and Operations Manager Apply common sense understanding to carry out tasks Constantly required to talk, hear, see, sit, stand and walk Must be able to see at close vision, distant vision, peripherally, have depth perception and have the ability to adjust focus Frequent use of hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools or controls Frequently required to reach, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, climb and balance on surfaces that may be narrow and/or slippery Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Experience 2 years minimum required
