Job Description

Position description: The Irrigation Manager must be thoroughly familiar with and able to perform all aspects of commercial and residential irrigation service to include: estimating, production, scheduling, customer service, training, etc. The Irrigation Manager directly oversees up to six Service Technicians while interfacing with clients, subcontractors. and suppliers. The Irrigation Manager must keep the Owner, Operations Manager and Account Managers with progress (or lack thereof) on all accounts while coordinating with Service Technicians. The Irrigation Manager also interfaces with company Sales, Estimating, Human Resources, and accounting personnel. 2.
Reports to:
The Irrigation Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager 3.
Skill set and educational requirements:
The Irrigation Manager must possess the following skill set and educational background: A. Minimum of eight years of experience in commercial and/or residential irrigation service. B. Have a high school diploma or GED. C. Be a Certified Irrigation Professional (CIP) and a Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT). D. Able to supervise up to six service technicians simultaneously. E. Able to effectively train field technicians. F. Possess valid driver's license and must be insurable on company's insurance policy. G. Have a clean criminal record. H. Possess excellent computer skills. I. Proficient in or able to learn Service Autopilot and LMN scheduling software. J. Proficient in or able to learn company GPS tracking system. K. Proficient in both oral and written communications. L. Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred) M. Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel. N. Proficient in typing and capable of typing 30 WPM with fewer than three mistakes. O. Able to always represent the company in a courteous and professional manner. 4.
Responsibilities:
A. Continually informs and updates company Owner, Operations Manager and Account Managers apprised of progress (or lack thereof). B. Continually coordinates with company Service Technicians as to service status (or lack thereof). C. Oversees the work of up to six Service Technicians simultaneously. D. Oversees the work of Service Scheduler. E. Ensures Service Scheduler and Service Technicians coordinate job details on a daily basis. F. Ensures that all servicing is kept on schedule and on budget. G. Ensures that all safety procedures are followed and reports any unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel. H. Ensures all accidents are properly documented and reported immediately. I. Ensures all workers' compensation insurance claims are properly documented and reported to HR immediately. J. Trains technicians to look for extras and converts them into work orders when appropriate. K. Ensures all work orders are processed correctly. L. Interfaces with subcontractors as necessary. M. Interfaces with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of service parts. N. Ensures that company production standards are met. O. Ensures that all equipment is operated in a safe and proper manner. P. Ensures that all equipment is maintained properly and preventatively maintained. Q. Evaluates equipment utilization and recommends future purchases to Owner and Operations Manager. R. Ensures that vendor receipts and all paperwork are processed and turned in daily. S. Ensures that job cost reports are properly analyzed and disseminated to Service Technicians. T. Thoroughly understands and complies with company policies, procedures, and SOPs. U. Assists in the development and implementation of the production part of company's strategic plan. V. Assists in the development, implementation, and achievement of company's annual budget goals. W. Assists in the development and implementation of the production part of company's training goals. X. Develops training plan and trains field crews. Y. Evaluates performance of Service Technicians. Z. Able to read and install irrigation plans. AA. Receives and reviews relevant job costing folders and submits to the Owner for final review and approval.
