Description Job Overview:
The EVS Grounds Manager will oversee all aspects of environmental services (EVS) for the property. This oversight will include requirements analysis, resource acquisition, employee training and assignment, quality inspection and control, administration, planning, and budgeting

Duties and Responsibilities :
Ensures compliance with workplace and guest safety and cleanliness standards throughout the department and all interior and exterior areas of the property to maintain a safe, clean environment. Ensures all team members are cordial and courteous to all patrons and fellow team members. Interview, select, train, and develop team members through coaching and mentoring in accordance with the Expectation Guide. Foster an environment of open communication and address team members' concerns in a timely and fair manner. Conducts periodic team member performance appraisals in accordance with Company Policy. Enhance department effectiveness by managing team members' skills, resources, and schedules and eliminating excessive and unnecessary expenditures. Ensure projects and assignments are completed promptly while maintaining service and product quality. As necessary, recommend changes in staffing or equipment. Ensures accurate accountability of payroll and attendance records and leave permissions and records through automated systems; enforces fairly all workforce policies and practices defining the employer

Maintains accurate records, including assignments, time sheets, accident reports, and maintenance records. Requests grounds maintenance and janitorial supplies, as well as parts and services from qualified approved vendors in compliance with purchasing guidelines. Produces and maintains operational focus of department on quarterly objectives. Assists in developing budgets and yearly planning with the Director of Facilities. Oversees and directs all grounds maintenance operations, including landscaping, turf care, snow and ice management, and repair of exterior infrastructure such as sidewalks, roads, drainage systems, and parking areas. Supervises, assigns, and evaluates maintenance and landscape crews performing routine and seasonal tasks including mowing, irrigation, pruning, planting, leaf removal, and snow removal operations. Ensures safe, efficient operation and maintenance of heavy equipment (e.g., loaders, tractors, mowers, snow blowers, chain saws, compressors), including oversight of snow removal and ice mitigation activities such as plowing and application of salt, sand, and ice melt. Coordinates preventative maintenance and repair programs for exterior facilities and infrastructure, ensuring timely upkeep of walkways, storm systems, parking structures, and related property assets. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls all special projects performed with in-house forces, including deep cleaning, high dusting, carpet and upholstery cleaning, grounds improvement projects, landscaping, and seasonal exterior maintenance. Remains informed of continuously changing body of knowledge of EVS and Grounds practices, methods, concerns for safety and trends of the industry. Provides such information to Director and others as appropriate to keep departmental practices current with industry best practice Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
(please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying ) High School diploma or GED
  • required Bachelor's Degree in Business, Hospitality, or Related Field AND two (2) years Supervisory experience
  • required OR Four (4) years' experience in a Management position
  • required OR Three (3) years' experience in a Supervisory position with Wind Creek Hospitality
  • required Two (2) years of supervisor experience or above at a commercial entertainment venue, hotel or resort, or a 24x7 business that never closes
  • required Membership in and credentialing by industry specific professional organization such as IEHA (Int'l Executive Housekeepers Assn.
), CMI (Cleaning Management Institute), AICS (American Institute for Cleaning Sciences), or participation in achieving and maintaining
ISSA CIMS
(Cleaning Industry Management Standard) certification at a commercial property or willingness to obtain within six (6) months

  • preferred Record of success in meeting objectives through directing the work of subordinates Record of success with increasing responsibility, for outcomes in periods of multiple quarters up to a single fiscal year Must be able to work in various environmental conditions including hot, cold, dusty, dirty and outdoor weather environments Must perform physical motions during standing, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds without assistance and 100 pounds with assistance Must be able to stand and/or walk for entire shift Must have a valid and current State Driver's License and an insurable driving record for purposes of driving company vehicles as required Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required Willing and able to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment Must have a badge (or the ability to obtain and maintain a badge) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this position
Base Pay:
Pay range
  • $102,680.00
  • $126,800.00 (The base pay will depend on factors such as experience level and skillset.) Voluntary full-time benefit offerings include the following
