Cyprian Keyes GC is looking to strengthen our golf course maintenance team with a self-motivated, detail-oriented team member looking to further their managerial and golf course maintenance knowledge and experience. Cyprian Keyes GC is a Mark Mungeam design that opened in 1997. Located just minutes from downtown Worcester in Boylston, MA, CKGC is a full-service facility boasting an 18-hole championship course and a 9-hole Par 3 course, with driving range, practice putting/chipping greens, and indoor fitting center.Experience Desired:
Previous golf course experience is required, turf/agronomic studies is preferred but not required. A desire to advance in the turf industry and develop leadership and managerial skills is integral.Duties Description:
The Assistant Superintendent is a year-round position that will play a key role in all aspects of golf course maintenance. This is designed to be a learning position, so a positive, forward-looking attitude is a must. The candidate will work closely with the Superintendent and Senior Assistant and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):- Daily course set up
- Training and delegation of daily tasks to team members
- Leading crew on in-house projects
- Pesticide and fertilizer applications and reporting
- Carrying out daily maintenance tasks
- Irrigation troubleshooting/repair/scheduling
- In-season rotation of weekend mornings with Supt & Sr Asst
- Off-season tree/brush removal
- Winter snow/ice cleanup
Special Skills:
Must possess valid driver's license. Must possess or have the ability to obtain Mass Pesticide Applicator's license (CORE) within 90 days (we can provide study material). Compensation /Benefits:
$50k-65k annually, depending on knowledge and experience. Paid vacation and sick time, health insurance options, life insurance, 401k, uniforms, continuing education, golf privileges, restaurant allowance (when open)Education Level Required:
