Job Description

  • Landscape Foreman
  • Path to Partnership
  • Donovan Farms Inc. | Central MA | Full-Time | Year-Round
  • About the Role
  • Donovan Farms is a established landscaping and hydroseeding operation looking for a serious, self-motivated foreman who wants more than just a job.
This position is designed for someone who eventually wants skin in the game — we're offering a clear path to profit sharing and potential co-ownership for the right person. This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll run daily field operations, manage crew, handle equipment, and interface with clients. The owner is actively involved but looking to transition operational responsibility over time to the right candidate.
  • What You'll Do
  • Lead daily landscape maintenance, lawn care, and hydroseeding operations
  • Supervise and develop crew members in the field
  • Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment — including a Ford F-650 with standard (manual) transmission (required)
  • Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on equipment; know when to wrench and when to call the shop
  • Manage project timelines, client communication, and job site quality
  • Handle site prep, planting, hardscaping, grading, and irrigation as needed
  • Enforce safety standards on every job, every day
  • Represent the company professionally with clients and vendors
  • What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience running landscape crews — not just working on them
  • Ability to drive a manual transmission truck (non-CDL Ford F-650 — this is a hard requirement)
  • Mechanical aptitude: comfortable doing basic equipment and truck maintenance
  • Hardworking, reliable, and honest — we will check references thoroughly
  • Able to work outdoors in all New England weather conditions
  • Strong communicator — with crew, clients, and ownership
  • Hydroseeding or erosion control experience is a strong plus
  • Horticulture, arboriculture, or irrigation certifications are a plus but not required
  • What's on the Table
  • Competitive hourly or salary compensation (DOE)
  • Year-round work
  • Real growth path: profit sharing and partnership opportunity for candidates who prove themselves — this isn't a talking point, it's the plan
  • Work directly alongside the owner during transition
  • Important:
    Vetting Process
  • We take hiring seriously. Expect a multi-step process including a working interview, reference checks, and a direct conversation about long-term goals. If you're looking to clock in and clock out, this isn't the right fit. If you want to eventually help run and own something, let's talk.
  • To apply, submit your resume and a brief note about your experience and why this opportunity interests you.
Pay:
$25.46
  • $30.
66 per hour
Benefits:
401(k) Flexible spending account Opportunities for advancement Paid jury duty Paid time off Parental leave Retirement plan
Work Location:
In person
