This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented mechanic who takes pride in maintaining equipment to the highest standards. At Lake Forest Golf Club, we believe great course conditions begin with reliable equipment, preventative maintenance, and a team-first attitude. The Equipment Manager plays a critical leadership role in supporting daily golf course operations and maintaining the high standards our guests expect. Position Benefits Full-time, year-round employment Competitive wage based on experience 401(k) match after 1,000 hours worked Golf privileges Employee meals Stable schedule with bi-weekly pay Independent and hands-on work environment Opportunity to take ownership of the equipment maintenance program Supportive team culture at a family-owned golf club Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage and oversee the golf course equipment maintenance program Perform diagnostics, repairs, routine service, and preventative maintenance on mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, small engines, and other turf equipment Develop and maintain organized preventative maintenance schedules Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and parts inventory Monitor equipment performance and proactively identify maintenance needs before failures occur Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment Coordinate daily with the Golf Course Superintendent regarding equipment priorities and operational needs Assist in equipment setup, adjustments, and seasonal preparation Ensure all equipment is maintained according to safety standards and manufacturer specifications Help train staff on proper equipment operation and daily care procedures Assist with procurement and organization of parts, supplies, and tools Stay current with industry trends, equipment technology, and best practices in turf equipment management What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, mechanically skilled, and takes pride in their work.
Preferred qualifications include:
Experience working with golf course, landscape, agricultural, or small engine equipment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the maintenance team Self-motivated with the ability to work independently Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed Welding, hydraulic, electrical, and reel grinding experience are a plus Employment Standards Must possess a valid driver's license Must be at least 18 years of age Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to push, pull, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Dependable, punctual, and accountable Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and seasonal demands If you enjoy working with your hands, solving mechanical challenges, and being part of a team committed to continual improvement, we would love to hear from you.
