This hands-on role spans high-end softscape installation, premium hardscape construction, vineyard establishment, and heavy earthmoving. The right candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, commands the trust of a crew, and can see a landscape blueprint through to a finished garden.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Garden & Softscape Installation — Direct planting of specimen trees, perennial borders, privacy screening, and ornate garden beds to refined estate standards. Hardscape Construction — Build and oversee premium features including natural stone retaining walls, pavers, walkways, and outdoor social areas. Heavy Equipment Operation — Operate excavators, skid steers, and loaders for earthmoving, utility/irrigation trenching, and precision grading. Site Preparation & Drainage — Transition raw land into finished spaces through soil conditioning, fine grading, and drainage management. Crew Leadership — Supervise and direct daily crew operations — assigning tasks, maintaining safety standards, and keeping projects on schedule. Equipment & Tool Oversight — Maintain mowers, augers, trenchers, and all landscape gear; enforce safe handling across the team.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

5+ years in high-end residential estate or commercial landscaping, with complex softscape and hardscape installations Proven crew leadership — assigning tasks, resolving on-site issues, and holding teams to quality standards Extensive hands-on experience with excavators, skid steers, loaders, and precision attachments Demonstrated hardscape craftsmanship with stone, mortar, and structural base materials Ability to read landscape blueprints and translate design stakes into finished garden features

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Deep knowledge of plant health and regional ornamental growth habits Experience with automated irrigation systems and outdoor lighting Vineyard establishment experience (plus) Industry certifications (plus) Bachelor's degree in a related field (plus)
