Job Description

Job Overview Roebuck Landscaping is seeking a skilled and motivated Irrigation Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial irrigation systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of irrigation components, water management practices, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Schedule & Work Expectations Monday -

50-55 hours Flexibility based on project timelines and weather conditions Responsibilities Install commercial irrigation systems including mainlines, lateral lines, valves, controllers, and backflow devices Read and interpret irrigation plans, blueprints, and specifications Coordinate with project managers and landscape installation teams to align irrigation with overall project scope Perform trenching, pipe installation, wiring, and system assembly Set and program irrigation controllers for optimal water usage and system efficiency Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and adjustments to ensure proper coverage and performance Ensure proper zoning, pressure regulation, and drainage considerations Maintain job site safety and ensure proper use of tools and equipment Track materials, installation progress, and system performance Provide input on system design improvements based on field conditions Qualifications Strong experience installing commercial irrigation systems Knowledge of PVC piping, valves, heads, drip systems, and controllers Understanding of water pressure, flow rates, zoning, and hydraulic principles Ability to troubleshoot and optimize system performance Proficient in reading irrigation plans and executing accurate layouts Ability to adapt plans based on site conditions Experience working alongside landscape and hardscape crews Understanding of grading, drainage, and how irrigation integrates with overall site development Ability to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions in the field Strong focus on precision and long-term system performance Valid Driver's License required Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work Experience operating trenchers and other irrigation-related equipment Qualifications 2-4+ years of commercial irrigation installation experience Familiarity with leading irrigation brands and smart controller technology Experience with backflow installation and testing (certification a plus) Ability to read and understand construction and landscape plans We invest in our team the same way we invest in our projects—with long-term success in mind: Competitive pay based on experience Health insurance options Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid holidays Opportunities for advancement and continued skill development Consistent, year-round work with a well-established company Team-oriented culture focused on quality, accountability, and craftsmanship Who You Are You're detail-driven, solutions-oriented, and take pride in doing things the right way the first time.
