Full-Time Position Summary:
The Assistant Warehouse Manager will support the Warehouse Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and grounds departments while adhering to company policies and procedures. This role serves as a key leadership position, with a planned transition to Warehouse Manager. The Assistant Warehouse Manager will manage employees, ensure timely completion of operational tasks, supervise shipping and receiving, oversee vehicle maintenance, and implement ServiceTitan to optimize operations. This role also serves as the primary backup for warehouse and grounds operations and supports special projects as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Employee Management (25%) Supervise warehouse and grounds staff, ensuring alignment with company policies and standards. Manage employee performance, attendance, and training needs. Foster a positive and efficient work environment by mentoring team members and preparing them for growth opportunities. 2. Workload and Task Management (30%) Coordinate and prioritize daily and weekly tasks across the warehouse and grounds teams. Monitor progress and ensure work is completed accurately and on time. Assist with fuel and will call load-outs, seasonal projects, and maintaining organized grounds. 3. Inventory Management (20%) Receive, verify, and process delivered products, ensuring accuracy against packing slips. Enter product details into Service Titan, tag eligible items, and store them appropriately. Conduct cycle counts and maintain stock levels by coordinating with purchasing staff. 4. Shipping and Receiving (15%) Oversee all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation. Verify freight deliveries, inspect for damages, and resolve discrepancies. Maintain a well-organized process for will-call orders, updating tracking spreadsheets and notifying customers of completion. 5. Vehicle Maintenance (10%) Schedule and coordinate regular maintenance for warehouse and delivery vehicles. Act as a liaison between vehicle service providers and management. Maintain accurate records of service schedules and ensure vehicles meet safety standards. 6. Service Titan software knowledge preferred by not required Play a central role in utilizing and integrating Service Titan into warehouse operations. Collaborate with other departments to align warehouse processes with company-wide systems. 7. Grounds Management & Support (When Necessary) Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the grounds area, including snow removal, recycling, and tool room upkeep. Support seasonal projects, such as BBQ stock assembly and perfect zoning tasks. 8. Backup Responsibilities (When Necessary) Serve as the primary backup for warehouse and grounds operations, including installations, staging, loading and conflict resolution. Step into leadership roles to ensure continuity during the Warehouse Manager's absence.
Qualifications:
Required:
Proven experience in warehouse or logistics operations. Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams. Familiarity with inventory systems and a willingness to learn ServiceTitan. Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance coordination. Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting, loading, and operating equipment.
Preferred:
Experience in the heating and cooling industry or similar fields. Technological aptitude for software implementation and training. Certification or experience in equipment operation (e.g., forklifts).
