Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced and driven Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our tattoo shop in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a balance of business acumen, people management, and a deep understanding of the tattoo industry. Minimum Requirements

• Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation principals as they apply to tattoo studios.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage teams with diverse backgrounds and handle client relations professionally.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and basic financial reporting.
• Proficiency in social media management and a basic understanding of marketing principles.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record-keeping and administrative tasks.
• Proficiency in design software such as Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, or Photoshop, with the ability to translate client concepts into polished, tattoo-ready artwork.
• Familiarity with office programs such as MS Office or Google Suite.
• Ability to mediate conflict and maintain a positive, culturally inclusive, respectful work environment. .
• A genuine passion for the tattoo industry and commitment to upholding the shop's standards and reputation.
• High school diploma or GED required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in business, management, graphic design, or a related field is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a tattoo studio, salon, or similar creative/customer-facing environment in tattoo and piercing business.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in tattoo design or a related artistic discipline in tattoo and piercing business. Job Duties
• Collaborating with clients to develop and present custom tattoo designs, working closely with artists to ensure the final concept is executed accurately and to the client's satisfaction.
• Hiring, training and managing a team of tattoo artists, apprentices, and other staff members, setting work schedules, delegating tasks, and ensuring everyone follows shop policies and procedures.
• Fostering a high standard of client satisfaction by maintaining a welcoming, professional atmosphere, managing appointment flow, handling client inquiries, and resolving any concerns promptly and professionally.
• Ensuring full compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations, including proper sterilization procedures, correct disposal of hazardous materials, and implementation of infection prevention protocols.
• Developing and executing marketing strategies to grow the shop's client base, including managing social media channels, coordinating advertising campaigns, and building relationships with local artists and businesses to increase community visibility.
• Overseeing day-to-day shop operations, including inventory management, supply ordering, and equipment maintenance to ensure everything is in good working order at all times.
• Maintaining accurate administrative records, including client files, consent forms, consultation schedules, and any documentation required for regulatory compliance.
• Monitoring industry trends, emerging techniques, and evolving safety standards, and actively encouraging the team to pursue professional development through conventions, workshops, and continuing education.
• Mediating and resolving conflicts between staff or with clients in a calm, fair, and constructive manner, preserving a positive and productive work environment for everyone.
• Partnering with the management team on additional initiatives, projects, or operational needs as they arise.
