Tree work Groundman or Climber

Groundsman Responsibilities:

Assist crew members working on and off the ground. Raking, blowing and other common landscaping procedures. Operate, maintain, and inspect equipment such as vehicles, chippers, chainsaws, stump grinder, blowers etc.. Driving; including backing, dumping, parking with and without a trailer in tow. Assist with maintaining a safe work environment such as placing cones and caution tape. Wearing proper safety equipment etc. To know or able and willing to learn and implement proper pruning, rigging skills, and tree felling procedures.

Qualifications:

Must have reliable transportation to work. Trainable, willing to learn. Able to demonstrate high safety standards. Valid driver's license. Capable of performing manual labor outdoors year round. Heavy lifting required. Must be able to safely climb ladders. Prior tree service, landscaping, forestry, or horticulture experience. Attention to detail and quality work.

Additional skills required for climber:

For climber's start pay you will need a minimum of two years climbing experience, post-secondary certificate or diploma in Urban Forestry or similar courses from a recognized institute, or a certified arborist. Capable of assessing safety hazards and rigging limbs down safely. Willing to train the right person with less experience.
