This position involves strenuous physical labor in all types of weather. Includes digging, mowing, trimming, weeding, brush cutting, and the use of power equipment. Requires competence in the use of hand and power tools as well as basic familiarity with water features and landscape maintenance.

Hours:

Part Time, 25 hours per week Job Summary Care for established lawns by mowing, aerating, dethatching, trimming, and edging. Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, pruners, or axes. Operate power tools, such as mowers, blowers, weed trimmers, chain saws, hedge trimmers, trenchers, and aerators. Mix, spray, and apply all types of pesticides; including herbicides, insecticides, fertilizers, and rodenticides using hand and automatic sprayers and spreaders (as assigned to properly trained and certified team members) Keep sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and planter beds clear of debris. Maintain and clean outdoor water features. Prune and trim trees and plants, using hand tools and 2-cycle equipment. Remain current on the knowledge of installation and maintenance of landscape plant material. Maintain plant beds by dead heading, weeding, and applying mulch. Attend and complete safety trainings related to occupational work conditions and safety hazards as required by the Facilities Department. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing assigned tasks as requested. Top 5

Action Oriented Functional/Technical Skills Peer Relationships Problem Solving Time Management Minimum Qualifications Believes and adheres to the beliefs and vision of Bethel Church Current and valid US driver's license with a clean record Ability to perform a variety of physical labor, including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing for long periods of time; lifting and carrying, tools, equipment, and materials Ability to perform physical duties of the position (see attached). Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs several times per shift. This position does not qualify for sponsorship of work authorization or an employment visa, so candidates must be legally qualified to work in the U.S. to be considered for this position. Preferred Qualifications Prior landscape experience Experience using a variety of hand and power tools, such as mowers, blowers and other 2-cycle equipment
