Responsibilities include but are not limited to perennial and annual maintenance, softscape installation, plant purchasing, vegetable garden maintenance, annual container design and maintenance, irrigation monitoring and adjustments and monitoring plant and soil health. The ideal candidate would have experience in gardening and a desire to gain hands on experience in a challenging environment. Candidate should be able to work outside for an extended period of time in varying conditions and lift at least 40 lbs. This position is seasonal May-November. Wage will be based on experience. Flexibility is required as hours will differ depending on the time of the season.

Duties include:

Perform routine maintenance of perennials and annuals (pruning, deadheading, dividing, fertilizing). Assist in the install of softscapes including plants, soil amendments, and mulch. Design, plant, and maintain annual flower containers and seasonal displays. Monitor overall plant health and diagnose issues related to pests, disease, and stress. Assess and maintain soil health through testing, amendments, and proper cultural practices. Provide knowledgeable guidance on plant selection and care expectations.

Pay:

$18.00 - $23.00 per hour
