Overview Join our dynamic team as a Groundsman dedicated to maintaining pristine cricket grounds that inspire excellence and enjoyment. In this vital role, you will be the backbone of ground care, ensuring the pitch, outfield, and surrounding landscapes are meticulously maintained to meet the highest standards. Your hands-on expertise will help create an optimal playing environment, fostering memorable moments for players and spectators alike. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in landscape maintenance and horticulture while working in a lively sports setting. Duties Prepare and maintain cricket pitches, including leveling, rolling, and watering to ensure optimal playing conditions Operate power tools and hand tools for turf care, edging, trimming, and landscaping tasks Implement irrigation systems to keep the grounds properly hydrated and healthy Conduct regular lawn care routines such as mowing, fertilizing, aerating, and overseeding Perform landscape maintenance activities including planting, pruning, weed control, and soil management Carry out routine grounds inspections to identify areas needing repair or attention Assist with seasonal landscaping projects to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the grounds Maintain all gardening equipment and tools through proper cleaning and routine maintenance Skills Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in landscaping and turf management Knowledge of irrigation systems, lawn care practices, and general horticulture principles Experience with landscape maintenance, gardening, and land shaping techniques Ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently in outdoor environments Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to grounds upkeep Good physical stamina for outdoor work across various weather conditions Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaborative tasks This role is ideal for individuals passionate about sports groundskeeping who thrive on physical activity and precision.
