Job Description

EXPERIENCED UTILITY LOCATE TECHNICIANS ONLY THIS IS NOT AN INSTALLATION POSITION
If you do not have verifiable experience locating underground utilities and performing utility markouts for gas, electric, water, sewer, telecommunications, and cable systems, please do not apply. We are seeking experienced Utility Locate Technicians for positions throughout Connecticut. Candidates must have hands-on experience performing accurate underground utility locates and markouts using industry-standard locating equipment, including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and concrete scanners. Position Overview Utility Locate Technicians are responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient locating and marking of underground utility systems, including: Gas Electric Water Sewer Telecommunications Cable TV Power utilities Technicians are expected to thoroughly investigate locate areas, properly mark underground utilities, complete all required documentation, and photograph completed locates. This is a field-based position utilizing a company vehicle as your mobile office. No two days are the same, and technicians work independently throughout assigned service areas.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 4 years of utility locating experience MUST have experience performing underground utility markouts MUST have experience locating all major utility systems MUST have working knowledge of: Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Concrete scanning equipment Utility locating equipment and techniques

Education High School Diploma or GED required Licensing Requirements Valid driver's license Must pass pre-employment: Drug screening Background check Subject to random drug testing in accordance with company policy and federal/state regulations Compensation Starting pay: $24.00+ per hour Pay based on experience Benefits Company vehicle (all vehicle expenses paid) Company phone and locating equipment Paid holidays Working Conditions Outdoor work environment in all weather conditions Extensive walking on uneven terrain and construction sites Frequent driving between job sites Typical work hours: Monday-Friday 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM Occasional after-hours, weekend, and on-call work may be required Due to the seasonal nature of construction, winter work hours may vary Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting Ability to carry locating equipment for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Safety & Hazards Working in active construction zones Exposure to traffic and adverse weather conditions Walking on rough or uneven terrain
EXPERIENCED LOCATORS ONLY
Again, this is NOT an installation position. Applicants must have prior underground utility locating and markout experience. Candidates without utility locating experience, OSHA certification, or SST certification will not be considered.
Pay:
