Six (6) months of recent and verifiable commercial lawn maintenance experience High School Diploma or GED A valid Florida Driver's License is required to drive College vehicles when necessary Candidate must have their own transportation to report to other college campuses as assigned Must be able to be forklift certified within one year

Key Responsibilities:

Maintains, mows, and trims grass, prune and care for shrubs and plants, rakes leaves and rubbish on grounds and around buildings; cleans, fills, and levels ground for sod and lay sod . Restores fields damaged by weather, use, or other conditions to a level commensurate with that expected of an athletic program. Maintains and renovates all intercollegiate fields and grounds. Establishes and implements grounds/landscape development and maintenance. goals, policies and procedures, field marking of all fields as required; manages and directs successful maintenance of all athletic fields and grounds. Performs routine repairs of other ground imperfections; and the maintenance of paved areas and trash removal and provides support services to other units within the Facilities Services Department. Performs maintenance and minor repairs of grounds equipment. Informs supervisor of need for advanced maintenance or replacement of equipment. Drives College vehicles and operates golf carts and light trucks to retrieve/return supplies, equipment, tools, etc. Gathers, verifies, and maintains information to support periodic and special reports documenting activities and events for assigned area. Attends staff meetings to exchange information. Attends professional seminars and/or conferences to improve professional skills and maintain required licensing.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Requires walking, standing, stooping, stretching, pushing, pulling, reaching and lifting all of the time, exerting at least 20 pounds of force on a recurring basis. Must be able to be exposed to outdoor temperatures, hot and cold. Must be able to follow oral/written communications. Must have computer knowledge to be able to clock in/clock out, and view personnel related information (paycheck, W-2, etc.)
