About us Community Training Works Inc. and its Young American Conservation Corps program if offering an AmeriCorps position in West Palm Beach We are an environmental conservation corps that empowers individuals from all backgrounds and abilities to contribute purposefully to their community through education and hands on experience. We impact communities through work on public lands, roads and waterways. We envision a world where individuals utilize intelligence and positive energy to improve their lives, community and environments. We do this through a non profit young adult workforce development program.
Job description:
Improve the community in which you live by working on public roads and lands and waterways (highways, retention ponds and outfall ditches, municipal and rural roads and rights-of-way). Duties include mowing, edging, sweeping, litter removal, brush removal, tree removal, sign washing, occasional fencing and guardrail repair. Work and receive on the job training and a wage. We are targeting young adults 18-35 yr olds, but all ages encouraged to apply! AmeriCorps Education Awards available for eligible candidates from 300 hours or $1100 to 1700 hours or $6,095 terms can be completed for a total of $14,000 to attend an accredited college or pay off a student loan.
Qualifications:
Experience with a conservation corps a plus! Experience in roadside maintenance, landscaping, zero turn mowers, saws, Stihl weed eaters, edgers and brush cutters is a PLUS ! this helpful especially for advancement Must be willing to work outside in unpredictable Florida weather including but not limited to extreme heat, cool, and windy conditions. Drivers license with no suspensions in 1 year required.

Hiring Requirements:
Florida resident with 3 forms of ID, Transportation to get to the meeting spot in morning at 7 am, our storage unit near FDOT office in St. Augustine and be picked up there by our Supervisor and in our truck.
