Primary Purpose:

This is work performing grounds maintenance and landscape installation duties including but not restricted to maintenance of turf, landscape, and irrigation; litter control; and set up for special events. Specific duties will be determined by the supervisor.

Job Function:

Mowing Weed eating, edging asphalt and cement surfaces Plant bed maintenance Equipment/shop maintenance Landscape construction Special projects/events Participate in special event set ups and other work Assist with campus maintenance emergencies Assist with new utilities installation and maintenance of existing utilities Manages work orders Raking leaves Prescribed burning. This position is designated as a Tier 2 respondent for designated campus emergencies and events. In the event of a declared campus emergency, the position incumbent will make every effort to return to campus when directed.

Supervision Received:

Close supervision. The incumbent's work is reviewed by the supervisor for accuracy and to ensure instructions are being followed. Required Qualifications Completion of ninth (9th) grade or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Some positions may require possession of a classified drivers license appropriate to a type of vehicle operated. Statement(s) of Understanding This position requires a background check. In conjunction with the University's policy, this position may also require a credit check. The holder of this position is designated as a Responsible Employee pursuant to their role under Title IX.
