Job Summary The Lawn Services Crew Leader is responsible for managing daily field operations, ensuring high-quality results, and directing a crew at various client locations. This is a hands-on position requiring technical expertise in lawn maintenance, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to train and motivate team members while providing exceptional service to clients.
Key Responsibilities Crew Leadership:
Supervise and coordinate daily activities for the crew, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to company standards.
Lawn Maintenance:
Perform, and direct, tasks including mowing (riding/walk-behind), string trimming, edging, blowing, pruning, and debris removal.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
Safely operate and maintain commercial equipment (mowers, blowers, trimmers). Perform daily inspections and routine, minor repairs on equipment.
Quality Control:
Inspect completed properties to ensure adherence to company, quality, and contractual standards.
Training & Mentoring:
Train and coach crew members on proper equipment use, safety procedures, and efficient landscaping techniques.
Customer Communication:
Serve as the on-site point of contact for clients, addressing questions and concerns professionally.
Safety Compliance:
Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA regulations, ensuring the crew wears proper PPE.
Documentation:
Maintain daily work logs, report on crew attendance/performance, and complete paperwork or mobile app entries for jobs.
Transport:
Safely drive company trucks and trailers to and from job sites.
Qualifications Experience:
1-3 years of experience in commercial lawn maintenance or landscaping, with at least 1 year in a leadership/foreman role preferred.
Driver's License:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of lawn care techniques, equipment maintenance, and safety regulations.
Skills:
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct a small team.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift at least 50-75 lbs and work in varying, often extreme, weather conditions (heat, rain, etc.).
Technology:
Proficient in using mobile devices for tracking hours and completing digital work orders. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Pesticide Applicator License. DOT Medical Card. Work Environment Position requires working outdoors, often in high heat or cold, for 40-50+ hours per week. Monday-Friday schedule, with occasional weekends depending on weather delays. Must be authorized to work in the United States
