Responsibilities Mow lawns using power tools such as riding mowers, push mowers, and string trimmers to ensure a clean, manicured appearance. Perform landscape maintenance tasks including edging, trimming, pruning trees, and shrubbery to promote healthy growth and aesthetic appeal. Utilize hand tools and power tools for planting, weeding, aerating soil, and installing garden features or hardscape elements like patios and walkways. Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or blockages and making necessary adjustments to ensure proper watering schedules. Conduct seasonal snow plowing operations to keep pathways clear during winter months, ensuring safety and accessibility. Assist with tree care activities such as trimming, pruning, or removal using appropriate equipment like chainsaws or excavators when necessary. Support overall site maintenance by cleaning up debris, applying mulch, and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained for optimal performance. Requirements Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with experience operating landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, excavators, and power tools. Knowledge of lawn care practices, landscape maintenance techniques, and horticulture principles. Ability to perform physical tasks outdoors in various weather conditions; stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and operating machinery throughout the day. Familiarity with gardening techniques such as planting, fertilizing, pest control, and soil management. Experience with hardscape installation or construction projects is a plus. Strong understanding of tree care practices including trimming and pruning for health and safety reasons. Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive attitude toward safety protocols during equipment operation or construction activities.
