Garden Center Associate - Seasonal

General Summary The Garden Center Associate is a seasonal position responsible for register transactions involving the sale and/or return of merchandise as well as maintaining the Garden Center, the Garden Center live goods and merchandise, the Garden Center pricing and signage as well as responsibilities associated with the main store. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

MUST BE AVAILABLE DAYTIMES DURING THE WEEK AND WEEKENDS THROUGH SEPTEMBER 6TH, 2026.

Also, must be able to repetitively lift 60lbs.

Customer Service Project a positive representation. Greet customers entering and throughout the Garden Center and store. Thank customers by name, when possible, when they are leaving the Garden Center and/or store. Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates. Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently. Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively. Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance. Continually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with the planting, care, and maintenance of live goods. Assist in pricing, stocking, marking and display of merchandise. Register Operations Follow all cash register transaction procedures. Responsible for balancing of register drawer. Adhere to any Store Support Center program or promotion that may require implementation at the cash registers. Participate in store and Cashier meetings. Garden Center and Main Store Appearance and Upkeep Keep the Garden Center, including checkout areas, plant racks, and back-end areas neat and clean at all times. Clean plants, dead head, water, and maintain all live goods. Assist with keeping displays stocked and faced. Rotate fresh plants and remove distressed plants as required. Water and maintain the plants daily. Ensure all Garden Center products are clearly and prominently priced and/or signed. Ensure order forms and supplies are stocked at all times. Assist with the display and merchandising of the Garden Center products. Call for water and refuse removal when necessary. Perform all other duties as assigned. Other Essential Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Experience Cashier experience preferred. Customer service experience preferred.
