Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated, reliable, and hands-on Caretaker to reside at and oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and security of our private sportsman club and attached campgrounds. As the primary on-site presence, you will ensure our facilities are clean, safe, and welcoming for all members and guests. This role is ideal for an energetic individual or a team (such as a couple) who loves the outdoors, possesses a wide variety of maintenance skills, and enjoys interacting with a community of outdoor enthusiasts. Key Responsibilities 1. Grounds & Facility Maintenance Perform regular mowing, weed eating, and brush clearing across the club property, shooting ranges, and campsites. Maintain and clean the clubhouse, all restrooms and showers, meeting areas, pavillions and kitchen facilities. Collect and dispose of trash and recycling from campground receptacles and common areas. Conduct basic, routine maintenance on club equipment (e.g., tractors, zero-turn mowers, UTVs, and power tools). Perform minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs on club property as needed. 2. Campground Management & Hospitality Greet campers upon arrival, assist with site check-ins, and process payments when a camp host is not available. Clean and prepare campsites after guest departures, including cleaning out fire rings and wiping down picnic tables. Monitor campground utilities (electric pedestals, water hookups, and dump stations) to ensure they are functioning safely. Sell club inventory to guests, such as firewood, ice, or targets, and accurately track cash/digital transactions. 3. Safety, Security & Rule Enforcement Conduct daily property patrols to ensure only authorized members and paid guests are utilizing the facilities. Assist with enforcing club and campground rules (e.g., shooting range hours, quiet hours, leash laws, and burn bans). Act as the primary on-site contact for emergency services, wildlife officers, or law enforcement if an incident occurs.
