Maintenance Technician Fort Wayne Country Club - Fort Wayne, Indiana About the Club Established in 1908, Fort Wayne Country Club is a family-oriented private club situated on 355 picturesque acres in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Club offers premier amenities including an 18-hole championship golf course, state-of-the-art Golf Academy, year-round tennis and pickleball, a resort-style pool complex with the Poolside Café, and exceptional dining and banquet facilities. Position Overview Fort Wayne Country Club is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to support the Maintenance Director in the upkeep, repair, and security of the Club's buildings, systems, and grounds. This full-time position requires a motivated professional with broad mechanical and technical abilities, a proactive work ethic, and the flexibility to adapt in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems (single-phase and three-phase).
  • Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including drains, supplies, and fixtures; operate plumbing tools such as power augers.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems, utilizing diagnostic tools such as manifold gauges, vacuum and recovery pumps.
  • Conduct daily pool water quality checks and ensure proper operation of filtration systems to maintain health and safety standards.
  • Support the preventive maintenance program, identifying and addressing issues proactively to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor and manage key control systems and assist in the inspection of fire protection systems.
  • Perform routine facility inspections to ensure standards for cleanliness, safety, and operational excellence are consistently met.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and member satisfaction.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, prints, and schematics (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration).
  • Proficient in the use of electrical and mechanical test equipment (VOM, amp meter, megger, manifold gauges, etc.).
  • Certified in refrigerant recovery.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work effectively with staff and management across departments.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work daily. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 20 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and walking, including working in hot and humid conditions.
