Front Line PURPOSE:
Provide turf and hardscape maintenance across 40-acre site. Support Minnetrista's mission through a focus on the appearance and safety of the grounds that provides a positive experience for visitors, volunteers and staff. Assist in set-up and tear down for internal and external events in collaboration with other staff and departments. The pay range for this role starts at approximately $18.25 per hour, with final compensation determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the position.
QUALIFICATIONS
Have at least 1-2 years' experience in turf maintenance, and hardscape maintenance experience is preferred. HS diploma or equivalent preferred. Demonstrate good customer service skills, work ethic, and teamwork skills. Operate a manual transmission vehicle around the grounds. The incumbent ensures effective working relationships by cultivating and maintaining professional credibility with all staff, administration, and volunteers. The individual demonstrates maturity, sound judgment, positive attitude, and works collaboratively with peers and colleagues throughout the organization and community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Help others achieve the organization's purpose through collaboration and teamwork. Carry out your job function through completing the following essential duties directly.
JOB DUTIES
Assist with regular upkeep of grounds, turf, storage areas, and nature areas. Greet and interact with visitors, volunteers, and staff in a professional manner; may work with volunteers on occasion. Clean up litter and provide routine outdoor trash removal. Maintain sidewalks and parking lots, including snow removal. Install and maintain hardscape features including walkways, retaining walls and wooden structures. Support campus activities by working with other teams to accomplish tasks, including outdoor event set-up, exhibit installation and deinstallation, and moving objects around campus or to storage. Perform apple sorting and cider pressings; participate in tours and interpretation of cider-making process. Understand basic food handling and sanitization practices. Open and close buildings, including locking/unlocking and use of security system. Alert Grounds Manager of any problem that might be a potential impact to the grounds or campus. Complete annual projects, including deep cleaning, maintenance, painting, and repairs. Perform all other duties required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work schedule flexibility is critical; will need to work some evenings and weekends for tasks like snow removal, Farmers Market coverage, and more, and must be able to move about the entire Minnetrista 40-acre campus. Work is primarily outdoors. Must have physical ability to operate heavy equipment. Travel required across campus in all weather conditions. Must be able to work primarily in various outdoor spaces and storage areas. May involve standing on uneven surfaces, natural surfaces, or concrete floors for long periods of time, exposure to hazards and moderate-to-high noise levels. Must have the endurance to work full days. Must be able and willing to operate a manual transmission vehicle. Must be able to climb (stairs and ladders), stretch, reach overhead, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. A valid driver's license is required.
