Position Summary:
The Facilities- Grounds Keeper is responsible for keeping company facilities and grounds in a clean and orderly condition. Facilities
Grounds Keeper Duties and Responsibilities:
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming. Gather and empty trash. Service, clean, and supply restrooms. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and/or snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals. Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. Requisition supplies needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. Mow and trim lawns and shrubbery, using movers and hand and power trimmer, and clear debris from grounds. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures. Drive forklift and floor sweeper. May perform other duties as assigned. Facilities•Grounds Keeper Skills and Specifications:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to safely operate and obtain certification to operate a fork truck. Ability to safely operate an overhead crane. Strong computer data entry skills. Solid problem-solving skills. Ability to contribute and work in a team environment. Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to ensure first quality of work. Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work. Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines. Ability to safely operate forklift and floor sweeper. FacilitiesGrounds Keeper Education and Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent (GED). FacilitiesGrounds Keeper Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of Facilities- Grounds Keeper, the employee is continually required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Grounds Keeper Work Environment:
While performing the duties of Facilities- Grounds Keeper, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold and extreme heat.
