7820 Shreve Park Drive, Shreveport, LA 71129, and multiple properties in Caddo Parish, Bossier Parish and Lincoln Parish in LA.Job Duties:
Landscaping and groundskeeping workers will landscape and maintain the grounds of commercial and residential properties using hand and power tools or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: gather and remove litter; use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes; operate vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, chain-saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws; water lawns, trees, or plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans; prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chainsaws; care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls; follow planned landscaping designs to determine whether to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers or foliage; trim or pick flowers and clean flower beds; plant seeks, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs, and apply mulch for protections, using gardening tools; mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edgers; rake, mulch, and compost leaves; decorate gardens with stones or plants; provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, or other grounds features; plan or cultivate lawns or gardens; maintain or repair tools or equipment using hand or power tools; haul or spread topsoil or spread straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place.Requirements:
No education, training or experience required.Special Requirements:
Landscaping and Groundskeeping Workers must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds. Standard bags of mulch, topsoil, and fertilizer weigh 50 pounds. Workers must be able to lift, cut open, and dump these bags. Employees must be able to perform general physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs, and moving the whole body, such as lifting, balancing, climbing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials outdoors in weather conditions (such as hot weather). Some OT and Weekends required.Terms and conditions of employment:
$16.33/hr to $20.00/hour, 35 hours/week, Monday- Friday, 6:30AM - 3:00PM. Overtime offered at $24.50/hr to $30/hour. Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered based on individual factors including work performance, skill, and tenure. Employees will be paid weekly on Tuesday. Workers will be provided with daily transportation to and from the worksite in compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations. On the job training available. Workers will be provided, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned. Landscaping Workers will begin each day at the worksite address. They will then be transported, free of charge, to properties located throughout Caddo and Bossier and Lincoln Parishes, to perform landscaping duties. They will then be transported back to the worksite address at the end of each work day. The employer will make all deductions from worker's paycheck required by law and no others without written consent from worker. The employer does not envision other workforce-wide payroll deductions. Potential elective deductions to be pre-authorized in writing if applicable are as follows: Employer offers optional housing to relocating employees. Employer will deduct for the reasonable fair market value cost of rent and utilities based on number of occupants for workers who voluntarily elect to live in employer-offered housing up to $100 per week, including utilities, Wi-Fi, and tv. Rent may also be paid separately by employee to landlord. Employer will assist workers in securing board, lodging, or other facilities. The employer will reimburse an H-2B worker in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker. From the place from which the worker has come to work, whether in the US or abroad, to the place of employment, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will provide advance payment for transportation and subsistence (including meals and to the extent necessary, lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of employment. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.Three-fourths guarantee:
The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
