When Candidate Found Camden Hills Regional High School Groundskeeper Full-time with Benefits Immediate Opening About Camden Hills Regional High School Camden Hills Regional High School, a state-of-the-art energy efficient facility that includes a wind turbine and solar panels, serves 710 students in grades 9 12 from primarily six surrounding towns. The school offers an incredibly expansive array of educational experiences for students and is dedicated to hiring and retaining a high-quality, diverse staff. Position Summary Five Town CSD is seeking a Groundskeeper for Camden Hills Regional High School. This position will be responsible for leading landscaping and field maintenance operations, as well as maintaining exterior facilities including a ropes course and wooded cross country trails. This position will act as a contact for athletic coaches and grounds-related contractors and project managers liaising with the Facilities Director. The Groundskeeper will also oversee snow removal. Key Responsibilities Serve as the department's primary expert in athletic field maintenance, including oversight and management of all grounds operations and maintenance across the entire school campus and athletic complex. Act as the key point of contact with contracted field maintenance vendors including coordination and oversight of all contracted services including fertilizer applications, core aeration, pest management, and specialty turf treatments. Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and program a large-scale irrigation system serving all athletic fields and landscape areas; manage seasonal startup and winterization. Maintain bleachers, press box, and scoreboards; coordinate inspections, repairs, and seasonal preparation. Oversee all maintenance and safety compliance for the ropes course facility. Lead all snow removal operations for athletic facilities, parking lots, walkways, and exterior campus areas; coordinate scheduling and equipment deployment. Manage, operate, inspect, and maintain all grounds equipment and tools, including mowers, tractors, aerators, sprayers, snow removal equipment, and hand tools. Serve as the department's primary liaison with contractors and project managers reporting any issues or changes to the Facilities Director. Serve as a knowledgeable resource and responsive point of contact for coaches, athletic directors, and administrators regarding field conditions, scheduling, and readiness. Assist the facilities maintenance team with indoor maintenance tasks as required during winter months. Qualifications/Skills Extensive landscaping experience. Demonstrated expertise in athletic field maintenance, including knowledge of fertilization programs, integrated pest management, core aeration, overseeding, and turf health. Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements. Expert with basic maintenance tools, including lawn mowers and tractors. Proven success in a team environment. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Maine Pesticide Applicator License preferred. Experience operating and maintaining large-scale commercial irrigation systems preferred. Experience with organic turf management and environmentally sustainable landscape practices preferred.
