Job Description
Weiler's Tree Service is currently seeking a Groundsman/ Tree Climber to join our team. Eligible candidates MUST have tree cutting/ climbing experience to be considered for the job. Job duties are as follows, but are not limited to:
- Trim and/or remove trees by climbing with the aide of a ladder, safety belt, climbing line, or from a bucket truck. You may also work from the ground using chainsaws, pruner etc. to cut branches or trunk section
- Has knowledge of using ropes, knots, wedges, sledges, chainsaws and is able to cut or trim trees in to manageable pieces.
- Loads and unloads trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris and/or feeds brush to brush chippers
- Trims trees that may cause damage to homes or fences
- Work with groundsmen on placement of logs and brush
- Sets up barriers, warning signs, flags, etc. to protect fellow employees and public.
- Assumes responsibility for the inspection and proper working conditions of tools, trucks, and other work equipment. Requests repair or replacement, when necessary, Maintains good housekeeping on trucks.
- Assists other groundsmen on various job duties assigned by your superiors.
- Able to work around hazardous and loud equipment
- Works in all temperatures and weather and will be exposed to mother nature
- Performs other related work, as assigned by superiors.
