The Hinman Company , a locally owned and leading company in the real estate industry in Southwest Michigan, is growing our team and adding a Residential Grounds Technician to join our residential maintenance team at 400 Rose Apartments and Skyrise Complex in Downtown Kalamazoo. Our service team is focused on an exceptional resident experience and superior maintenance of the properties. As a member of the service team, the Residential Grounds Technician will play a key role in creating and maintaining an exceptional curb appeal of our communities. This position focuses on a manicured, visually pleasing appearance of our grounds and common areas, and light maintenance and janitorial services for shared spaces. Some common tasks for the Residential Grounds Technician will be: Weeding and refreshing plants in landscaped areas Cleaning up sidewalks, parking garages, parking lots, dog parks, outdoor amenities, trash/recycling areas, and picking up trash around the properties. In winter, shoveling and salting sidewalks. Straightening up and wiping down high touch surfaces areas such as elevators, hallways, game rooms, club rooms, and patios.

Light maintenance:

changing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, door handles This person will have a keen eye for detail, take pride in presentation, and will ensure our properties consistently reflect our high standards of cleanliness, safety, and curb appeal.

Experience and Requirements:

A great attitude focused on creating an excellent tenant and staff experience. Minimum 1 year of experience in grounds or janitorial of a residential community. PC proficiency using Microsoft Outlook required; experiance with Yardi preferred. Excellent communication skills. High level of organization and attention to detail with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize. Strong work ethic, reliable and self-motivated, with an ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have basic hand tools, an email-capable smartphone, a valid driver's license, reliable transportation with an ability to operate the vehicle, and valid car insurance.
